Steins;Gate Re:Boot (General)

Strangely enough, for the past near 24 hours, the English site has been showing a 401 Unauthorised error and asking you to log in. I wonder if they published it prematurely by mistake..

Just thought I'd give a small followup to this saga with the site, it does indeed seem that the page was put up prematurely by mistake. None of the details about the release were changed now that the site is back up however, which begs the question of why they even bothered taking it back down to begin with.

If this game does anything meta it would be the only way A;C could be redeemed for me. Saw some retard say that because MAGES put out a notice banning streaming the game, it "must be" a meta sequel. Yeah right, as if a studio not wanting you to stream their VISUAL NOVEL (remake of an old story or not) is evidence that it's going to do anything interesting at all.

I also think the Live 2D is really weird looking. Don't think it fits the art style at all. In general, I'm not a huge fan of most of the redesigns. Lukako, probably my least favorite character in the game, actually looks the best I think. And Mr. Braun? Forget it man. Maybe the Live2D will grow on me... Robotics;Notes 3D stuff also wasn't my favorite, and I grew to appreciate it. Not so sure this time/

If the new ending is just Hyde of the Dark Dimension that's gonna blow dick, but I'm not expecting anything else.

It was as I feared...

Since I was asked, this ending is based off of an audio drama CD. In this worldline, Okabe is a rounder with the codename M3, partnered with M4 Moeka Kiryu under FB. While it's a cool scenario, it doesn't really make a lot of sense to 'exist,' other than to cover the basis of 'every possible worldline existing,' or something like that. I find it hard to believe Okabe would have ever ended up working as one of SERN's dogs, but I don't deny that it's at least different and possibly interesting.

That being said, it's likely just straight up copied from the Drama CD. This is disappointing because I was hoping that a "new ending" might be something... well, new. Considering that Steins;Gate 0 is just an adaptation of other written works into VN form, this isn't all that surprising or unprecedented. Maybe it'll still be cool, and I suppose there's still a chance for Re:Boot to be a meta sequel, but idk... only time will tell.

Provided there IS a next time, for any of us.

So, all the vague posting about the new route. And it turns out it's going to be a copy and paste from the CD drama... Fuck it, no more Positive Thinking from my part. Unless normies get a whole of this, this is their last title.

Called it. I knew it was just gonna be Hyde of the Dark Dimension. At most I hoped for a, like, Maho route but I figured that was gonna be it. Anything "new" was always gonna be just pre-existing material adapted to VN. MAGES/Chiyo are hacks officially confirmed. Anything else "new" is just gonna be like, Babel of the Grieved Maze or some shit added between worldline transitions or smthn.

I'm selling my Re:Boot slander stocks and fully investing in the hypothetical Chaos;Head Re:Boot slander. I find it really hard to believe Takumi Nishijou would survive intact in a 2026 VN. That's of course, assuming he still exists in the series at all. Re:Boot could have changed a lot of things.

Considering that Okabe's phone wallpaper has the Mass energy equivalence formula on it (reddit ass wallpaper holy shit), we can assume that Einstein still exists, so that SHOULD mean that Gigalomania is still a thing, which would of course mean that Ir2 could still be realbooted.
