Rare Maypews W. Seriously, he is right. Chaos;Head is totally unskippable.

:What:
Friend, there's more in heaven and earth... wait, no. There's more between heaven and earth than... oh, forget it!
As they say in Bulgaria, you can't have the dick in the ass and the soul in Heaven.

Those secret messages
That spill into the air
From far away, so far away
A flowing river of illusion
Running with confusion
Never gone, it goes on and on.

I've played through Steins;Gate then Steins;Gate 0. Did I miss out on any major references or anything? Should I continue SciAdv in the release order now? I'm going to play Chaos;Head first.

Nothing that really matters. Play chaos head;Noah next yes, and it’s recommended to use the committee of zero patch to do so. After that, consult the thread for your next move. Robotics;notes is next in release order following steins;gate but there is room for play if you’re more interested in the chaos sequel.

And if you please, post your thoughts on your playthru in our chaos head general thread as you go on

Okay will try to do so, hopefully without reading any comments to avoid spoilers. Raw reaction.

I've pointed this thread to people before, but I figure it was finally time to make one post in it that kind of condenses the main idea so that I can say definitively where to look if you have questions about the series' play order.

If you want to do things the "intended" way, play by release order. Do this if you are concerned at all about missing references or something like that in future entries. Release order (for just mainlines) is as follows:

Chaos;Head NOAH
Steins;Gate
Robotics;Notes ELITE
Chaos;Child
Steins;Gate 0
Robotics;Notes DaSh
Anonymous;Code

These are the main entries of the series. There are also a number of side VNs/games that complement the mainline entries. You obviously shouldn't play any of those without playing the source material first, but you don't necessarily need to play those in release order. If you want more Steins;Gate after finishing the game, you don't need to wait to finish Robotics;Notes ELITE to play Linear Bounded Phenogram.

If you are curious about the side entries and what they are, here is a list of them and a brief description.

Chaos;Head Love Chu Chu! - a sort of sequel to Chaos;Head NOAH, Love Chu Chu! (LCC) is NOT a dating sim as many retards might imply. It is a visual novel in a structure similar to the original game, with a common route and character routes and so on. I can't speak much on the content of either LCC game yet as they're not translate just yet, hopefully soon though. I will update this post when I actually get to play it.

Steins;Gate My Darling's Embrace - similar to LCC, just with the Steins;Gate cast. Each route focuses on Okabe's relationship with another (usually) female character. Some are more romantic than others. If you like Mayuri, this is a must play as her route is pretty much the best part of the game. Not a required experience by any means.

Steins;Gate Linear Bounded Phenogram - a collection of side stories written by various authors, each from the perspective of a different character (there are 2 Okabe stories however). Some are better than others. Overall also not required but if you want more S;G definitely play this one.

Chaos;Child Love Chu Chu! - similar to its Chaos;Head version, again don't have much to add yet as it's not actually playable for EOP plebs at the moment. Will update when I have more.

Again, don't play any side entry without playing its main first. Here is the list of entries and side entries in release order if you want it:

Chaos;Head NoAH
Steins;Gate
Chaos;Head Love Chu Chu!
Steins;Gate: My Darling's Embrace
Robotics;Notes Elite
Steins;Gate: Linear Bounded Phenogram
Chaos;Child
Steins;Gate 0, both the anime and the VN
Chaos;Child Love Chu Chu!
Robotics;Notes DaSH
Anonymous;Code

Now all that being said, there are some "alternative" orders. There are some people who die hard believe you should not play the games out of order. In general, this is a totally fine mindset. But we here at Deluoode believe there is some room for play in the order.

For example, Chaos;Head is a bit of a harder sell than Steins;Gate for a lot of normies. So starting with Steins;Gate is a fairly common phenomenon, and it's generally perceived as fine to do so. Even going on to play Steins;Gate 0 after is mostly fine as well.

There are also some people who want to play Chaos;Child before Robotics;Notes. Generally we believe it is fine to do sat as R;N takes place after C;C chronologically and it's unlikely that any connections to R;N will be missed in playing C;C first. Again, play release order if you have concerns about this.

Some ironclad rules for play: You can't skip Chaos;head other than to play Steins;gate first, and you can't play anonymous;code anywhere but last. You also can't play Chaos;Child before Chaos;head, despite what some retards will tell you. The mindset from C;H is essential to the C;C experience. It is also advised to have played S;G and C;H before R;N, as R;N is considered a "culmination" entry.

Some other acceptable Play orders (may add to at a later date):

S;G -> S;G 0 -> C;H -> R;N -> C;C -> R;N D -> A;C

S;G -> C;H -> R;N -> C;C -> S;G 0 - > R;N D -> A;C

C;H -> S;G -> C;C -> R;N -> S;G 0 -> R;N D -> A;C

Note that these are not necessarily recommended, but they are considered acceptable. Again, play release order if you have concerns.

NOTE: This list doesn't include Occultic;Nine as it is an unfinished and hard to access entry compared to the rest of the series. If someone would like to make a post about where it fits into all this, be my guest but i don't really know that much about it. Its connection to the rest of the series is dubious I'm told, so I didn't consider it important enough to include here.
