For my first run through, I'm try to lean into which type of delusions I feel would fit the situation at the time so to speak, personally I think I am kind of intimidated by them an tbh. I am a bit put off from of the positive delusions so I mostly lean to the negative ones, which, from the sparse amounts I've read are all most of the time more commonly brutal, while positive ones, which can be a coin toss between vindication and fanservice, which I have no problem with it mostly just comes down to my personal taste and also where my computer is positioned relative to the door to the room but you know.

Overall though I think they're an interesting way to interact with the game and I can see them being used to provide some insight into either Takumi or other characters later on.

I think I've mostly gone with no delusion at all/neutral. I can count 1 positive delusion and 2 negative ones so far.

Freshly finished Chapter 1 of Chaos;Head Noah, I'll provide some of the thoughts I have right now. Initially going in I was entirely blind to Chaos;Head, both in what to expect and its general contents, etc. So far, I've admittedly had difficulty going through the story, I get easily distracted so :P, though technically Chaos;Head is the 3rd VN I've played, though I've only ever really finished 1 VN so far, and that was Witch on the Holy Night.

Anyways, Chaos;Head has been an alright experience so far. I was given ample forewarning in regards to Takumi's "unique" traits, but so far, from what I've witnessed in Chapter 1, is that, while Takumi is as NonoEnjoyer describes as

He's a freak, a bum, a loser, and out of line A LOT.

I believe I think he does have some good in him, maybe not a lot but the guy right now doesn't seem like a monster, just an ass, which given his situation and mindset so far, yeah its not surprising.

I mainly say this because I think up until the ending of Chapter 1, he really does seem to warm up to and like Yua, at least until the end of the chapter. As it all seems to fall apart when that moment comes, which does beg the question of how he became the bum I saw in chapter 1. Anyway, so far my opinion of him hasn't changed from starting Chapter 1, so I'll move onto a character who I have unexpectedly grown fond of even though she just got here. Yua.

I like Yua, I think she's cool :D.

Even though it was all an act to get more info on NewGen for her investigation, I do find it interesting how she kind of still went with asking Takumi to go with her to pre-order the Seira Post-Awakening Figure, I think she is interested in Takumi (not romantically or anything moreso just, as a person she talks to), as well it makes me wonder if she actually is a Blood Tune fan and actually did want that figure.

Anyways, I'll continue on with Chapter 2.

Mission Report No. 002 on Chaos;Head Noah!

Chapter 2 was a lot shorter than I was expecting, very much surprised. This'll be a lot lighter, as this chapter seemed to be doing a lot more building and setting things up. So far, I'm liking the central mystery, there's some interesting pieces regarding Takumi's character here as well but like I said this seems to be set-up as far as I can see it.

The introduction of FES was neat, I think I caught a glimpse of her during a short sort of, I guess cutaway is how I would describe it? It's her just singing a tune on a footbridge, but anyway. She seems interesting, but I'll have to wait and see in Chapter 3, there was also someone else, in Chapter 1 (I think?) that I forgot to mention, the girl Takumi bumps into when he's going to go meet-up with Yua. She seems interesting.

As well it seems like whatever power these guys have is starting to make itself VERY known, what with FES swinging the thing during a concert, and Takumi catching a girl with a similar blade after looking out to the 107 following his attempt to break off from Nanami at the Phone Store.

Additionally, more exploration into NewGen, I wasn't expecting to see the perspective of the Police, I was thinking they'd mainly be in the background but to see who they're sending for this case this early on. I'm kind of interested, their characters might be fun but I'll see later.

Overall, no strong thoughts on this chapter so far. The new characters introduced here seem interesting, but once again, I'll have to wait and see in Chapter 3.

...I wasn't expecting to see the perspective of the Police, I was thinking they'd mainly be in the background but to see who they're sending for this case this early on. I'm kind of interested, their characters might be fun but I'll see later.

Chaos;Head does change perspectives quite frequently. The B-plot of the game follows the scraggly detective Ban Yasuji, so expect to see a lot more of him. Generally I don't mind perspective shift in the series, but C;H does get pretty channel-changey especially in some later chapters. You'll see what I mean.

Mission Report No. 003 on Chaos;Head Noah! o7!

Going to get straight into spoilers for this one, so beware below!

This has a lot for me to chew on, in regards to the nature of Takumi witnessing NewGen Murder No.3 and what is up with the now introduced Rimi Sakihata.

There's a moment about I think midway through the chapter that made something click with me. It was Nanami and Takumi going to school together against Takumi's will, and Nanami just suddenly blanks out in the middle of the street, almost adding another number to the world car k/d ratio.

This took me back to an earlier moment in the Chapter where Takumi talks about why talking on call gives him the creeps, specifically focusing on the process of how calling even works, mentioned something to the effect of "there's a chance that the electrical signal changes into something different" and "how can I be truly sure if the other person I'm talking to on the phone is the actual person".

And that's when an idea clicked for me, maybe some sort of broadcasting fuckery is abound? It's entirely possible some form of signal transmission is screwing with everyone's heads, or hell, even time. Thinking back to how they explained the Time Leap machine in the S;G anime.

Then there's the inconsistency with how visceral NewGen Murder No.3 (forgot what it was called but the Crucifixion) was, as it's far less bloody in the image shown by the police than what Takumi saw, as well, I should also mention Rimi's behavior at the time, she seemed to be in a similar state as to how Nanami was in the moment I mentioned earlier

Then there's Shogun's reveal, one thing of note was just, every person being gone, nobody there, completely devoid of anyone but Takumi and later Shogun. I thought back to the scene of the initial D-Mail being sent in the S;G anime and I wonder if changing worldlines had anything to do with that moment, but looking at other moments of interest that's probably not the case, and once again, looking too far ahead.

Anyways, I'm thinking... idk something is sending signals to people that makes them do crazy stuff? I heard of something like that being talked about in S;G but I'm not sure, if I'm right then I might've accidentally spoiled myself which xp (RIP) but that's the fault of my hubris.

Now then, something else, in regards to Takumi and Shogun, same guy but not same guy? The scene where Takumi seemingly starts sleep walking and then it shows that he's chatting as Shogun, only for Shogun to appear later on, it's interesting.

As I wasn't really buying that Shogun and Takumi could be the same guy, I still don't believe so entirely, but anyways, working idea is that Takumi is being influenced to be Shogun. Might be related to what I mentioned earlier about ppl getting influenced by signals and the like, maybe for something in the future?

Unsure, though.

Now, another thing I was expecting, more of Ban and Suwa, I like these guys they got good vibes to them. I've already said what I can about their plot points earlier in regards to the police so, for now, I hope to see more of these guys, I feel like they'll be fun. Now then, onto the other characters

Before that, something I should disclose given how major it is, especially going forward.

I've uhh... been playing the game unpatched, and on a pirated copy.

I apologize, though my personal economic circumstances aren't very favorable, make no mistake, I very much aim to buy the game, alongside the rest of SciADV and any other Visual Novel I play in the future, and when that time comes I'll make sure to replay the SciADV games in the way its best experienced while actually support everyone behind this awesome series, but unfortunately, I'll have to make do for now.


With that out of the way... Uhh, I'll continue, with regards to Rimi Sakahata.

Given the context of everything I was a bit apprehensive towards her but I think I like her as well, she's genuinely very caring of Takumi and the end of the chapter moment with her was very sweet. That said, the elephant in the room is her role in NewGen Murder No.3, so far, I think she did it but not of her own will or in sound mind. Referring back to what I was talking about with signals and stuff, but, that's all I have on her for now.

There is also the appearance of Sena, the girl Takumi bumped into last chapter, not much to say about her here but she's still cool, similar vibes to Ayase though a lot more heavy handed. Not much else to say though, I'll keep an eye on her and Ayase for this next chapter.

As well there is Kozue Orihara, I got a glimpse of her I think end of Chapter 1? She's a transfer student, one who seems to come from a similar background, or, at least, set of bad times as Takumi, so I'll be interested to see how they might bond over that, if at all.

One more thing, the Di-Swords of the few designs I've seen (FES, Sena, and Kozue) I think I like Kozue's the most, I don't know it looks like an ironing board someone tried to make into a... fuck if I know, but it looks cool.

I'm using a repack, in fact I actually have the patch installed though for some odd reason it doesn't seem to actually work and I've been stumped trying to get it to do so. It could be how it bypasses Steam to get it to play to begin with or something but so far I just have no clue what could be stopping the patch from working.
