I've only played XBC2 in the series (well, and most of Xenogears but I didn't finish it), but that game has one of the best OSTs you'll ever hear. Mitsuda is a genius.
He's the GOAT, dude. He's done, AFAIK, the entire Xeno series from Gears to Future Redeemed and even did fucking CHRONO TRIGGER. Actually just the greatest to ever do it.
Also play the rest of the series and in full reeeeee :Staunch:

Those secret messages
That spill into the air
From far away, so far away
A flowing river of illusion
Running with confusion
Never gone, it goes on and on.
Fishmans is one of those bands with such a perfect discography that it almost seems impossible. This might not even be in their top 10.

I should probably give that live album thing of theirs that's rated so high a try; I listened to Long Season and liked it well enough but I struggle a bit with, well, a one song album since it's not very replayable and that water drop sound towards the end grated on my nerves a bit. This song seems pretty promising though.

Long Season (especifically the 98' live version from their last live) is the song. I have only listened to it around 10 times but I'm 100% serious that I will never find something as good as it. It's really difficult to explain with words but it might be the only piece of music which has touched me all the way down to the bottom of my soul; it has also been with me during all of my worst moments and might be the most perfectly-composed piece of all time. I could go on for hours but you can't fully grasp it until you hear it (Fishmans' poppier stuff is also great, one of the best things of the band).
